On the day of the cremation, our team will bring your loved one into the service, which your family and friends attend at a crematorium, where you can include music, readings, or words from those who knew them best. The service itself usually lasts around 30 to 45 minutes, and you are welcome to personalise every part of it to reflect the person who died. Our Motherwell team will guide you through the timing and arrangements well in advance so that the day feels as calm and meaningful as possible.
When someone dies, you can call our Windmillhill Street funeral home at any time, day or night, and one of our team will answer and begin to help you. We will arrange for your father to be brought into our care, which is often the most pressing concern for families in those first hours, and we will talk you through the paperwork and next steps at a pace that suits you. There is no need to have any decisions ready — we will guide you gently from the very beginning.
Yes, our team on Windmillhill Street is here for families across Carfin, Newarthill, Wishaw, Holytown, and the wider South Lanarkshire area. We have been caring for local families since 1965, so wherever you are in the area, you are never far from support. Please do get in touch and we will talk through how we can help you.
Absolutely — we arrange all kinds of services for families in Motherwell and across South Lanarkshire, whether that is a traditional religious service, a civil ceremony, or a completely non-religious celebration of life. Our team on Windmillhill Street will listen carefully to what matters most to your family and help shape a service that honestly reflects the person who died, with no assumptions made about faith or belief.
There is restricted parking directly outside our funeral home on Windmillhill Street, which allows around 20 minutes — useful if you are dropping off or collecting documents. For longer visits, such as arrangement meetings or time in our chapel of rest, additional parking is available on nearby Camp Street. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor, and while we do not currently have a ramp for wheelchair access, we do have an accessible toilet and our team will always do everything we can to accommodate your family's needs.
