Co-op Funeralcare, Rayleigh
104 High Street, Rayleigh, SS6 7BY
We're a funeral home in the heart of Rayleigh, serving the communities of Hullbridge, Eastwood, Rochford and Benfleet since 1980. Our clients describe us as "patient, kind, and compassionate". These are words we live by every day as we strive to give everyone who comes to us the best experience possible when arranging a funeral.
We will be led by you in making the funeral arrangements. We will listen as you tell us about who they were and what feels right for them. Then we will use our established relationships with local places of worship and crematoriums in the area, like Holy Trinity Church and Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church to create the funeral that feels right.
If you need us, get in touch. You'll be greeted with a warm welcome, a friendly face and the promise of a cup of tea when we meet at our comfortable funeral home on High Street.

Parking on Rayleigh High Street can be limited, and we want to be upfront that there is only one space on the narrow road directly behind our funeral home. There is, however, a public car park around a five-minute walk away, which most families find perfectly manageable. Our chapel of rest and arrangement room are both on the ground floor, and the building is fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet, so once your family arrives, we've done everything we can to make the visit as comfortable as possible.
Whenever someone dies, our team is available to help you, and you can call us at any time — day or night. Once a doctor has confirmed the death and the necessary paperwork is in order, we can arrange to bring your loved one into our care at our funeral home on Rayleigh High Street. You don't need to have any decisions made yet; your first call to us is simply about getting support, and we'll gently explain each step as you're ready to take it.
Yes, our team on Rayleigh High Street is very familiar with families coming to us from Hullbridge, and we're here to help however we can. We cover a wide area including Hullbridge, Rochford, Eastwood, Benfleet, Leigh-on-Sea, Southend, and Basildon, so wherever you are, you won't need to look far. Simply get in touch with us and we'll guide you through everything from the very first call.
Absolutely — we support families of all beliefs and none, and a non-religious or humanist funeral can be just as personal and meaningful as any other. Our arrangement room on Rayleigh High Street is a quiet, private space where we can sit down with your family and discuss exactly the kind of farewell you have in mind. We can help you find a celebrant who will work with you to write a service that tells the real story of the person who died, whether that takes place at a local venue or elsewhere.
On the day of a cremation service, our team will arrange for your loved one to be brought to the service venue, and we'll be with your family throughout to make sure everything runs as you'd wish. Many families we work with choose to hold a service at Holy Trinity Church on Rayleigh High Street before the committal, which gives loved ones a meaningful ceremony in a familiar setting. We'll talk you through the timings, what to expect at each stage, and how to personalise the service so it truly reflects the person who has died.
